Welcome to the South East Sutherland Deer Management Group.

Formed in 2018, our members are a collective of landowners and occupiers who, through collaboration, manage the wild deer resident on their land holdings.

We currently have six participating members however, this welcoming and open group would encourage other landowners and occupiers within the South East Sutherland area to contact us if they have an interest in being involved.

The group’s primary role is to co-ordinate information relating to wild deer such as populations, annual culling records and deer welfare issues along with contributing to reducing the impacts caused by, and promoting the benefits gained from, one of Scotland’s iconic species.

Our five-year management plan describes the group, outlines our aims, and details our objectives, including that of delivering a sustainable deer population that lives in reasonable harmony with the natural environment where they are found.
